Lorraine Best – Feature Artist at the Easter Showcase Exhibition
art exhibition, UncategorizedThe Central Coast Watercolour Society’s Easter Showcase Exhibition will be held at The Community Gallery, Gosford Regional Art Gallery, Webb Street, East Gosford with the wonderful paintings of our local artists for sale.
Running daily from 10 am to 4 pm from Thursday 29th March to Wednesday 11th April 2018 (closed Good Friday). The featured artist for the exhibition is the society’s own Lorraine Best.
Lorraine was inspired to paint at an early age because of her father’s interest in art.
Over the years, during formal education days and during the years of motherhood, she attended art classes in Sydney and Melbourne.
Inspiration comes from the Australian landscape and her daily experiences.
She loves to work with other artists, exchanging inspiration and motivation with them, as well as their friendship.Lorraine’s first art award was gained in 1983 at the Geelong Art Show. She has won many awards since, including the Hornsby Art Award on two occasions. These paintings now form part of the Hornsby Shire Council art collection.
Lorraine is continuing to develop her artistic styles and is now exploring the potentials of yupo paper, a synthetic paper, waterproof, stain-resistant, and extremely strong and durable.
Lorraine has paintings in private collections, both in Australia and overseas. For further details regarding this exhibition, contact Marlene on 0409 666 709 or Susie on 0401 566 379 for details.
