It was always Carol’s intention to try painting in retirement and after experimenting with various styles she discovered the style of painting she likes when a friend gave her a magnifying glass, setting her on the road to detailed work – animals and people being favourite subjects.
Painting only in watercolours Carol has been strongly influenced by the wonderful work of two Australian artists, Heidi Willis and Louise de Masi.
Being a member of the Central Coast Watercolour Society and Central Coast Art Society has helped immensely with artistic learning, by both attending workshops and meeting with like-minded people.
Carol exhibits her work on the Central Coast and in Sydney and has won several awards including a Highly Commended Award in the Open Section of the 2019 Central Coast Grandma Moses Art Competition.
