Central Coast Watercolour Society March update


Coming up this March we have our general meeting on Wednesday 14th March at 9.30am.  This is held at the Entrance Community Centre, cnr Battley and Oakland Ave.  The Painting Challenge for this month is Vegetable so we look forward to seeing lots of “yummy” paintings of vegetables!

Our guest demonstrator for this meeting is Marlene Palagyi who is a recognised talent on the Central Coast art scene.


Her art has evolved through acrylics and pastels to the soft translucency of watercolours, under the influence of many artists.

Marlene is developing a style which reflects her passion for the light, colour and textures of nature, and has found acceptance and praise for her work in exhibitions on the Central Coast .

Marlene won the People’s Choice award at the CCAS 2014 Summer Exhibition with “Against The Odds”.  She was awarded a” highly commended” for her entry at the Grandma Moses Exhibition in 2015, after winning the watercolour section in 2013. In the 2016 Exhibition, she won first prize (watercolour) for “Summer Breeze”, and received a Highly Commended for “Avoca After The Storm”.  She has been hung in the Gosford Art Prize in 2015 and sold her work titled ” IN THE SWIM” As invited artist at the CCWS Easter exhibition in 2015, she won People’s Choice award for ” Tall Ship”.

Marlene has won The Royal Oaks Art Prize at the Cessnock Springtime Art Fair 2017 for ” Valley View Morpeth “.
